Hybrid Cloud Scenarios - Getting your feet wet!By Julian Belotti, Solution Advisor on
As a result, companies will need to manage a more complex technology landscape, in which cloud based solutions need to be integrated with on-premise systems and possibly other cloud solutions.
For SAP customers, some of this complexity has been eliminated. SAP provides end-to-end business scenarios that integrate on-premise applications (SAP ERP, SAP CRM) with SAP cloud solutions (Ariba Network, SAP Business ByDesign, SAP Cloud for Customer, SAP Cloud for Travel and Expense, SAP Financial Services Network, SuccessFactors HCM Suite).
Importantly, rapid deployment solutions are available for many integration scenarios to facilitate quick and low risk implementations within a predictable timeline and budget. Grouped into four line of business categories (finance; human resources; procurement; and sales, service and marketing), the rapid deployment solutions provide a framework inclusive of step-by-step guides, best practices, templates and tools for each integration scenario. Technical integration, in many cases, is realised using middleware (SAP HANA Cloud Integration or SAP NetWeaver Process Integration) or directly via native integration or an add-on.
In parallel to these developments, SAP is now offering an enhanced support program for customers, entitled SAP ONE. The new support program, which is available through the Enterprise Support offering, offers a single harmonised support platform across all SAP solutions and deployment scenarios. SAP will leverage this program to help entice customers to switch to the cloud.
Now, seems the right time for SAP customers to test the waters and assess the opportunities of a hybrid model.
