Hitting the ground runningBy Stuart Dickinson on
2017 is upon us and already UXC Oxygen has had a busy start to the year. Some of our consultants worked tirelessly through the Christmas period helping customers meet project deadlines. I am pleased to say that we have already had two customer go-lives in our first week back at work.
My first few days were taken up attending SAPFKOM17 in Singapore – SAP’s largest internal conference dedicated to SAP employees and partners. It is at this event, held at the same time in different places around the world, that SAP defines its key themes for the year.
High on the agenda was the continuation of SAP’s digital transformation story. Helping customers participate in the digital economy will again be a key focus in 2017 and is something UXC Oxygen has been building towards for several years. I am pleased to say that we are in lockstep with SAP. Its key focus this year will be on providing subscription services to customers, rather than perpetual licences. The latter will still be available to those organisations who want them, but the flexibility, cost efficiencies and scalability advantages of ‘pay as you go’ software delivery and support contracts are now mandatory requirements for most of our customers.
Over the last few years SAP has made many exciting product acquisitions and in 2017 it will double down its efforts to integrate these new solutions – such as Concur, SuccessFactors and Ariba – within the core SAP offering. The idea is to provide customers with greater depth and breadth of functionality, ensuring that the functionality is simple for business users to access, no matter where they happen to be working.
FKOM17 brought many different people together under one roof and Paul Kruger and I were lucky enough to spend some quality time with various members of SAP’s global team. UXC Oxygen is an iconic brand within the ANZ market and it is extremely gratifying to see that our relationship with SAP is well recognised and respected within the global community.
UXC Oxygen has established a multi-layered relationship with SAP. We are not only a solution delivery partner, but a reseller, a software maintenance provider, and a software development partner. I believe this is something that our customers gain significant benefits from. Our aim is to simplify our customers’ business, and an essential part of that is ensuring we are an organisation that is easy to deal with. Our technical software expertise, our domain experience, and our knowledge of the way SAP operates makes it straightforward for customers to partner with us and gives them an easy path on which to manage their SAP investment. One of SAP’s key concerns for 2017 is removing complexity. We will be doing our utmost to achieve the same thing for our customers.
Best wishes for the New Year.
